Abbie Harlow Published in Writer's Digest!
How did The Butterfly’s Sting begin? What was the original idea? In her article for Writer’s Digest, Abbie Harlow describes the process of turning the One Direction fanfiction she wrote in high school into her debut young adult novel.
“If there’s anything I’ve learned from this process,” Harlow says, “it’s not to judge anything by its first draft or form.”

THE BUTTERFLY'S STING Deal Announcement!
Karen Li and Shelley Tanaka at Groundwood has bought Abbie Harlow's debut YA novel, The Butterfly's Sting, the story of a teenage girl's efforts to save herself and her siblings from her abusive guardian, against the violent backdrop of an illegal boxing ring. Publication is slated for fall 2025; Ammi-Joan Paquette at Erin Murphy Literary Agency did the deal for North American English/French rights.
